Restaurant Portions And Weight Loss
Restaurant portions are getting bigger and bigger every day. And why? Because that’s what people like. The restaurants just give the customers what they want.
When people eat out, they like the big portions, so they feel that they are getting their money’s worth. If you are about to say “It’s not true”, just imagine that you go to a restaurant and are served a relatively small plate of food, that’s just enough to feel full but not stuffed. I bet you’ll get this “let down” feeling, like something is amiss.
We are so conditioned to feel stuffed at restaurants, that we don’t want to settle for less. Even though in theory we know that eating too much makes us fat, but in our heart we like the stable comfort of huge plates - the restaurant experience that we come to know and love.
In reality, most restaurant portions are more than enough for 2 meals. You can eat half of your restaurant meal and feel full. Listen to that feeling.
Just take the other half of your meal home. You can eat it the next day for lunch! There are many benefits:
- You will not sabotage your weight loss
- You will save time by not having to buy or make lunch for the next day
- You will save money on lunch the next day
Think about it. If you agree, from now on make an effort to take part of your restaurant meal home. Remember, you don’t have to eat all the food that’s in front of you!
