How To Measure Body Fat

Filed under: Weight Loss Tips — @ 1:23 pm on September 20, 2006

Just measuring your weight is not enough to determine if your health is good or not. Weight alone cannot distinguish between pounds that belong to body fat and pounds that belong to muscle mass. If you have too much fat, you’re at the risk of becoming obese, thus having other health problems like diabetes, heart diseases and even cancer. So make sure you measure your body fat correctly.

Here’s Why You Shouldn’t Eat 3 Hours Before Bedtime

Filed under: Weight Loss Tips — @ 7:17 am on February 16, 2006

Many times we hear the old advice: “don’t eat 3 hours before bedtime”. But why?

The answer is simple - when you don’t eat for the whole 3 hours before bed, you’ll end up eating less total food for the day.

Many people do most of their snacking in the evenings - munching on stuff while relaxing and watching TV. They come home from work and have all those snacks in the house that just beg to be eaten :)

There is nothing magical about “3 hours before bed” in terms of turning the food into fat. A calorie is a calorie no matter WHEN you eat it. Eating late will not make you fat. It’s eating A LOT that will. And limiting yourself during the last 3 hours of the day means you will eat less.

Drinking Ice Water Burns Calories

Filed under: Weight Loss Tips, Burning Calories — @ 7:31 am on December 5, 2005

Drinking ice-cold water makes your body burn calories. When you drink ice water, your body burns calories by raising the temperature of the water to your body temperature.

Drinking an 8-ounce cup of ice-cold water burns 8 calories. That’s not much, but if you drink 8 glasses of ice water a day, it adds up. 8 glasses of ice water at 8 calories each = 64 extra calories burned per day!

If you don’t mind drinking ice water, it’s a very easy way to burn those 64 extra calories! Over a year, 64 calories burned per day equal 6.5 lbs of lost fat! Yes, you can lose 6.5 lbs per year just by drinking ice water!

To Get To Your Goal Weight, You Need A Plan

Filed under: Weight Loss Tips — @ 11:21 am on November 18, 2005

“A goal without a plan is just a wish. ”
~Antoine de Saint-Exupery

Do you have a definite plan on how you are going to lose weight?

Do you jump from one diet extreme to another, not knowing what to do to get to where you want to be?

You need a PLAN.

The reason why most diets fail is they don’t give you an exact plan to follow. Calories, points, carbs, etc. is just way too confusing. Having too much information and not knowing what to do with it is quite frustrating.

That’s why I designed the Foolproof 30 Day Diet PLAN. It tells you exactly what to do - no guesswork. You simply follow it to get from point A (your current weight) to point B (your goal weight).

No guessing, no thinking - just quick results.

You need a plan. Now you have it.

Coffee Doesn’t Raise Blood Pressure, But Soda Does

Filed under: Weight Loss Tips, Weight Loss News — @ 7:23 am on November 12, 2005

It was long believed that caffeine causes high blood pressure. Not so, the new study says.

According to a new study , coffee doesn’t raise blood pressure, despite the caffeine content. The study ran for 12 years and included more than 150,000 women. According to the study, even those women who drank over 6 cups of coffee per day were not at an increased risk of high blood pressure.

However, those who drank caffeinated sodas (regular or diet) had much greater risk of blood pressure - up to 44% higher risk! It’s probably some other chemicals in the soft drinks that cause this effect.

So, here’s another reason to dump those soft drinks!
