What Is Your Body Shape?

According to a survey of 6318 women, here are the percentages of each body shape among women:

Hourglass: 8%
Spoon: 21%
Rectangle: 46%
Inverted Triangle: 14%
Other Shapes: 11%

The hourglass shape means the bust and hips are approximately the same circumference. The waist is 9 inches or more smaller than the bust.

The rectangle shape means that the bust and hips are approximately the same circumference, and the waist is less than 9″ smaller than the bust.

The spoon shape means that the hips are 2″ or more larger than the bust. The waist is less than 9.25″ smaller than the bust.

The inverted triangle - applies where the bust is 3.6″ or larger than the hips and the waist is less than 9″ smaller than the bust.

Most clothes are manufactured for the hourglass figure, even though only 8% of modern women have this shape.

Body Image And Sexual Desire

A survey conducted by Penn State University found that 21 percent of women couldn’t think of a single attractive feature of themselves! That’s 1 out of 5 women has such poor body image!

According to this survey, the less attractive the woman perceived herself, the more likely she was to report a decrease in her sexual desire.

When you feel ugly, you are not in a mood for sex, and if you don’t have sex often, that makes you feel even less attractive. It’s a vicious cycle!

Come on, it’s time to start feeling good about yourself! Sitting there and feeling fat and ugly is not going to help your situation. As I said in my other post on body image, first you have to assess how you really look, then either be happy now with what you’ve got or do something about your appearance so you are happy later.

Here’s To Looking And Feeling Great,

Body image is a person’s perception of how he or she looks. Common terms associated with “body image” are “positive” and “negative”. People with positive body image accept their body the way it is and like their looks for what they are. People with negative body image are always unhappy about their appearance, no matter what they look like.

In addition to being positive or negative, the body image can also be “realistic” or “skewed”.
