Check Serving Sizes
In order to make their foods appear healthier, food manufacturers often use misleading serving sizes. They make the listed serving size unusually small.
For example, I’ve seen muffins where the serving size on a label was 1/4 of a muffin
And it was about 200 calories per serving! So the whole muffin packed a whopping 800 calories!
Come on, who’s going to eat only a quarter of a muffin - that’s ridiculous!
I’ve also seen tiny microwaveable individual pizzas where the serving size is 1/2 of a pizza. I think most of the ridiculous serving sizes that I’ve seen were on processed packaged foods - sure, no wonder they’ve got something to hide
Remember, the calories listed on the label are for 1 serving, not for the whole package.

Eating Soup Can Help You Lose Weight
Eating soup can help you lose weight because soups are pretty filling (even when they are low in calories). Especially vegetable soups - vegetables add bulk without adding calories (just don’t add the cream).
The soup will take up space in your stomach, not leaving much room for other (more fattening) stuff.

Fruits Can Make You Fat
Fruits are full of vitamins which makes them very good for your health. We are so used to hearing that fruits are good for you, that most of us automatically think of fruits as a “diet food”.
However, fruits are not “all you can eat” food for dieters. Going overboard on fruits can make you gain weight.
For example, a medium apple has 80 calories. 5 apples contain 400 total calories, which is an equivalent of McDonald’s small cheeseburger.

Lose 20 lbs a year by eating just 10% less
An average person (who weighs 150 lbs and eats about 2,000 calories per day) will lose around 20 lbs per year by reducing his or her food intake by only 10 percent.
10% of 2,000 calories = 200 calorie savings per day. 1 lb of fat = 3,500 calories. 200 calories x 365 days divided by 3,500 = 20.85 lbs per year!
No dieting! Just eat whatever you are eating, and leave one tenth of the food on your plate. You won’t even notice the difference - try it right now - divide your plate into 10 equal parts, and leave one out - it’s a really small amount of food to give up.
If you are bigger and eat more than 2,000 calories per day, you will lose even more weight. Let’s say if you currently eat 3,000 calories per day, you will lose about 30 lbs per year by eating just 10% less!
Think about this powerful 10% rule…

Do You Usually Eat All The Halloween Candy?
Don’t set back your weight loss by stuffing yourself with the Halloween candy!
I hope you are not trying to fool yourself thinking that you’ll have this candy sitting there and you won’t touch it. Yeah, right! We all know that you’ll “sample” it, so to minimize the damage, wait until the last minute to buy the candy. Don’t buy any Halloween candy until the actual day of the Halloween.
And give away ALL the candies to the kids - don’t leave any for yourself! As I wrote before, out of sight, out of mind.
Now, if you have your own children who bring home the candy after trick-or-treating, it makes it more difficult. In this case, eat only your favorite candies that you’ll really enjoy. The other candies that you don’t like as much are not worth it. Ask yourself: are these candies worth getting fat for?

Which Diet Is Best?
The answer is:
The One That You Can Follow
Any diet will help you lose weight if you stick to it. So you just have to find the one that you can follow.
For some people, it’s easier to stick to low-carb. For others, to low-fat. Some do best with counting calories, “points”, etc., others like a more structured plan that tells them exactly what to eat.
At the end, any diet will work. The hard part is staying on a diet. To lose weight successfully, you need to find a diet plan that works for YOU.
