Weight Loss Success Story From Kristy

I’ve lost 12 lbs and i’m feeling much better! I still have a ways to go but i’m on the right track! I didn’t stick with it 100% because of some meal situations in the 30 days but I didn’t go crazy during those times!

I even put my husband on it - he’s lost 16 lbs (I KNOW he cheated some!) but he can button his pants again so he’s pretty happy!

Check Serving Sizes

In order to make their foods appear healthier, food manufacturers often use misleading serving sizes. They make the listed serving size unusually small.

For example, I’ve seen muffins where the serving size on a label was 1/4 of a muffin :) And it was about 200 calories per serving! So the whole muffin packed a whopping 800 calories!

Come on, who’s going to eat only a quarter of a muffin - that’s ridiculous!

I’ve also seen tiny microwaveable individual pizzas where the serving size is 1/2 of a pizza. I think most of the ridiculous serving sizes that I’ve seen were on processed packaged foods - sure, no wonder they’ve got something to hide ;)

Remember, the calories listed on the label are for 1 serving, not for the whole package.

Plan Your Workouts

If you’ve chosen to exercise to lose weight, I recommend keeping a daily planner where you write down the dates and times when you are going to work out.

Putting your workouts on definite dates and times in your calendar will increase the likelihood that you are actually going to do them. Unless things are planned exactly when, where and how they will happen, they are just pipe dreams :)

Without a plan, it’s too easy to procrastinate, avoid and postpone. When you write things down, you make a commitment to yourself for the time period that you’ve chosen.

Don’t Go Grocery Shopping When Hungry

When you go to the grocery store while you are hungry, you want to eat everything in sight. All the fattest, sweetest and unhealthiest junk foods that come your way will end up in your shopping cart!

When you are hungry, your eyes get big and you feel like you NEED all those treats, and that they are absolutely necessary additions to your food regimen :)

Do yourself a favor - never shop for groceries when you are hungry!

Find Weight Loss Support

You are much more likely to stay motivated and succeed with your weight loss if you have support. If you have any friends who would also like to lose weight, team up to do it together.

You can support each other on the diet, reminding to make healthy food choices. You can support each other through difficult times when one of you feels like quitting. You can even go to the gym together if you live close enough - this way you won’t skip exercising!

If you don’t have any local friends who can do it with you, you can turn to the Internet to find “weight loss buddies”. It’s much easier to do it with a friend than alone.
